A call for help answered

On April 17, Bishop Luis Rafael Zarama and Catholic Charities asked for help to support food pantries They are deeply grateful for your response.

Dear Friends,

Two weeks ago, we put out a call for financial support from the community to help Catholic Charities serve the increasing number of families who have been economically impacted by COVID-19.

I was overwhelmed at the response we received. I am so grateful to everyone who made a generous contribution and helped us raise over $75,000! These funds will be used to stock the shelves at our food pantries in Durham, Fayetteville, Greenville, Raleigh, and Wilmington. We will also be purchasing food gift cards to distribute in our Albemarle, New Bern, and Newton Grove regions.

In the video below, our regional staff share what has been happening locally in their offices over the past two weeks as they began serving families again. I also want to call your attention to the specific need for volunteers that we have in our Durham and Fayetteville offices. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the office directly for more information.

Please know of our prayers for you and your loved ones during this unprecedented time and thank you for your continued support of Catholic Charities.

Sincerely,
Lisa Perkins
Executive Director
