The Call to Orders is an official document called by canon law as a dismissorial letter. The dismissorial letter contains testimonials given to one of his subjects by a pope, bishop, or religious superior, stating that the bearer may be ordained. Such letters indicate that all the conditions required by ecclesiastical law have been satisfactorily met by the subject and the addressee is requested to ordain him.
After receiving their handwritten petition, the reviews from the faculty, the recommendations from their seminary rectors and the director of Vocations and Seminary Formation, Bishop Luis rafael Zarama issued a Call to Orders for the priesthood to Deacon Christopher Koehn, Deacon Michael Coveyou and Deacon Marlon Mendieta. These men are to be ordained to the holy priesthood at 10 a.m. on June 23 at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral in Raleigh.
In addition, two third-year seminarians, Noe Ramirez and David Miller, have petitioned the bishop, received recommendations by their seminary faculty and rectors and have completed their Oath of Fidelity and promise of celibacy. They are to be ordained to the transitional diaconate on the Saturday following Easter, at 10 a.m. on April 7 at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral in Raleigh.
