Cervical Mucus Methods (CMM)
Cervical Mucus Methods helps a woman to be able to observe and chart the changes in her cervical mucus. Identifying normal, healthy cervical mucus can assist individuals in identifying the most fertile times in a woman’s cycle. There are a variety of methods that teach approaches to observing and charting cervical mucus.

Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System (Pope Paul VI Institute)
How to Learn the Creighton Model System (CrMS):
The CrMS is taught by FertilityCare™ Practitioners or FertilityCare™ Practitioner Interns who are trained in a 13-month Allied Health Education Program, which is designed to help them meet the various needs of the individual throughout all stages of their reproductive life.

Sympto-Thermal Methods (STM)
Sympto-Thermal methods of fertility awareness/natural family planning observe several signs of fertility and cross check the signs in order to note ovulation. Some of the biomarkers observed in this method are: Basal Body Temperature (BBT), cervical mucus, change in cervix, and other secondary fertility signs.
Couple to Couple League (CCL)
The sympto-thermal method taught by Couple to Couple League are done in classes either in-person or online. These classes are taught by professionally trained volunteers who have witnessed the benefits of using the method in their own lives. Online/virtual classes and a home study course are also offered through CCL. Please follow link below if you are in an area where no local classes are offered.

Sympto-Hormonal Method (SHM)
The Sympto-Hormonal methods instruct individuals and couples on how to observe several signs of a woman’s fertility, including the use of an ovulation predictor kit (OPK) or fertility monitor. The assistance of the OPK or fertility monitors adds the detection of reproductive hormones in the urine.
Fertility Education & Medical Management (FEMM)
FEMM is a hybrid method with options to track changes in hormones in urine and cervical mucus using a specific app. This method also has a medical system that supports the method. Please contact an instructor below to learn more.
(Note: FEMM is not currently a method listed on the USCCB’s NFP Providers page due to clarification on integration of Church teaching in the curriculum. Instructors listed here are ones who are trained in FEMM and knowledgeable on Church Teaching.)

Marquette Method (MM)
Marquette University College of Nursing Institute for NFP
The Marquette Method uses devices to assist in charting and interpreting signs of fertility. The Marquette Method is taught either in-person or online as a single class or as multiple classes, depending on the couple's needs. The classes are taught by a medical professional formally trained in the Marquette Method.
