Pre-school Teacher Assistant and Pre-school After Care Provider

Hours per week: 37.5

Position Summary:

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Raleigh is seeking a Pre-school Teacher Assistant and Pre-school After-Care Provider to join St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Wake Forest NC.  The teacher assistant will support the lead teacher and share in the responsibilities for the safety and physical well-being of the children, as well as engage the children in play and activities that are developmentally appropriate.

Key responsibilities:

• Work closely with the lead teacher to execute day-to-day classroom operations, including various aspects of instruction, from whole group, small group, monitoring the class during independent practice, supervision of students during snack time, recess and times of transition.
• Support the lead teacher and students in the classroom as needed and at the direction of the lead teacher.
• Following dismissal of students, the role of pre-k aftercare begins which includes:
  • Ensure the welfare and safety of the students
  • Plan and supervise fun activities such as arts and crafts and movement skills.
  • Supervise students eating lunch and clean up following students eating.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma.
• Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
• Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• A practicing Catholic with thorough knowledge of the Catholic faith.
