Position Summary:
Our Lady of Lourdes School in Raleigh, NC is seeking an Assistant Principal to assist the Principal in providing leadership in academic program development and supervision; be innovative and inquisitive, a strong interpersonal and collaborative leader; possess demonstrated knowledge and competency to bring creative, best practices; encourage professional growth of staff; foster communication with school, parish and community.
Key responsibilities:
- Represent the diocese, parish, and school in a positive and professional manner.
- In the absence of the principal, serve as the key administrator.
- Plan and supervise school student activity programs as assigned by the principal.
- Enforce student discipline code of conduct.
- Hire, train and manage substitutes and playground personnel.
- Assist in the administration and monitoring of standardized testing policies and processes.
- Assist in arranging or delivering professional development and in-service training for all staff.
- Provide leadership, supervision and direction to teachers for the instructional program, commensurate with the requirements of the North Carolina Department of Education, The Diocese of Raleigh and the educational needs of students.
- Lead the technology needs of the school in both planning and working with the vendors that provide services.
- Lead Safety team for school safety initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master Degree in Educational Administration or related Master’s Degree.
- Minimum of five years teaching experience in elementary/middle school and experience as an administrator is preferred.
- Holding or eligible to hold a North Carolina Principal’s license.
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing background and reference checks.
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic in good standing
- Excellent skills in strategic planning, curriculum and instruction, institutional advancement and technology preferred.
