Cardinal Gibbons High School, a faith-filled and mission-driven Catholic high school in Raleigh, North Carolina, serving grades 9-12, seeks a  Data Management and Payroll Specialist.  This individual is responsible for maintaining accurate payroll records and managing employee data while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role combines analytical skills with attention to detail to support both payroll processing and data management functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Management
    • Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including regular wages, overtime, and other compensation, while maintaining strict attention to detail and accuracy
    • Review timecard data and coordinate with managers to resolve discrepancies
    • Maintain accurate records of employee benefits, leave, and attendance
    • Process and reconcile payroll taxes and prepare related government reports
    • Handle garnishments, paid time off accruals, and other payroll adjustments
  • Data Management
    • Maintain employee database and ensure all personnel records are accurate and up-to-date
    • Create and generate regular reports on payroll metrics, labor costs, and other HR analytics
    • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, visualizations, and conduct analyses providing insights into variances that help drive decision-making
    • Audit payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance
    • Manage employee documentation including I-9s and W-4s
    • Implement and maintain data security protocols to protect sensitive information
  •  Systems and Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and data management procedures
    • Collaborate with IT and the Diocese to maintain and upgrade HRIS and payroll systems
    • Develop and document standard operating procedures for payroll and data management
    • Train other team members on payroll systems and procedures as needed

 Qualifications

  • Required
    • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience
    • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis
    • Excellent attention to detail and mathematical aptitude
  • Preferred
    • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
    • Experience with major payroll systems (UKG, ADP, Workday, etc.)
    • Knowledge of SQL or other database management tools
    • Experience with data visualization tools
    • Proficiency in HRIS and payroll software systems
